Mariusz’s 45th Birthday

Let’s make at the end of 2026, my 45th birthday a reason to get together in a unique location.

Let’s do some easy winter mountain walks in beautyful Czech’s Lužické hory, drink a couple of stunning beers and get a birthday dinner in the best kneipe in the entire world – Jedlovská nádražka

All you have to do is to come there and book some place to stay.
Come with kids and pets.

FAQ

Reason for the event

45 is almost a milestone birthday. I would love to spend my birthday together with you all – just walking, chatting, eating good food, and having some beer.

Do I need to book my accommodation in advance?

Yes, it is highly recommended. We are staying in Krásná Lípa, where there are many places to stay. Some of them are already fully booked by party participants, but there are still plenty of rooms available. You can find more information in the „Logistics” tab.

Why this place?

You probably know that for many years I’ve had a soft spot for the Czech Republic—its people, language, and culture. I simply feel good there. The Lužické hory ridge, Krásná Lípa, and Jedlová are among my favorite places in the world. They are unassuming, quiet, underrated, and ordinary. In a world where everything is „over the top,” this very ordinariness is the greatest advantage of this place.

What kind of trip is it going to be?

This will be a completely stress-free party. A relaxed atmosphere, nice people, and an international vibe. You decide which parts of the trip you want to join. It’s very important to me that everyone feels at ease, comfortable, and safe. We are at an age where we have kids of all sizes—so if you’re coming, expect quite a few of them around!

How will we get around once we’re there?

We will be getting around on foot and by local trains. To make buying train tickets quick and easy, please download the Czech Railways app „Můj vlak” in advance.

Will the hiking trips be difficult?

No. The Lužické hory are a low mountain range. However, keep in mind that we will be there in winter. Dress appropriately and make sure to have proper footwear. Do the same for your children (pack a spare change of clothes for them in your backpack). The trips are planned so that everyone feels comfortable. If you have any additional questions about this, please contact me directly.

Is there anything planned for the children?

Of course. On Friday, I’m planning a bonfire at the end of our hike. On Saturday, there will be a „Winter Olympics” for the children throughout the trip, with small prizes. During dinner on all days, we will be playing board games.

Should I bring a gift?

It’s not necessary at all. However, if you insist: my wife has given me the green light for a cycling trip to Cappadocia in 2027. I’m currently raising funds for this adventure.
